One broker, all the pieces

Medicare is where I start. It's not where I stop.

Most families need more than one policy to feel genuinely covered. Rather than sending you to four different people, I'm licensed across the whole picture — so everything works together and nothing overlaps or leaves a gap.

Age 65 and turning 65

Medicare

I represent multiple carriers, so I can put the plans side by side and show you the real difference instead of one company's pitch.

  • Medicare Advantage (Part C)
  • Medicare Supplements / Medigap
  • Part D prescription drug plans
  • Special Needs Plans (D-SNP, C-SNP)
  • Veterans and employer-coverage questions
Under 65

Individual & Family Health

Retiring early, self-employed, between jobs, or aging off a parent's plan? You have options beyond COBRA, and some of them cost far less than people assume.

  • ACA Marketplace plans and subsidy checks
  • Coverage for the self-employed and small business owners
  • Short-term and bridge coverage
  • Early-retiree planning up to your Medicare start date
Protection for the people you love

Life Insurance

The quietest conversation I have, and the one families thank me for later. We'll size it honestly — enough to cover what you're worried about, not more than you need.

  • Term life
  • Whole and guaranteed-issue life
  • Final expense and burial coverage
  • Beneficiary reviews on policies you already own
The gaps nobody warns you about

Ancillary Coverage

Your health plan handles the medical bill. These handle everything else that shows up with it — the deductible, the travel, the recovery, the days you can't work.

  • Critical illness (cancer, heart attack, stroke)
  • Hospital indemnity — cash paid directly to you
  • Dental, vision and hearing
  • Home health care coverage

Meet Betty Stamey

Medicare can be overwhelming. My whole job is making it simple.

I was born and raised right here in Chattanooga, and I've spent my whole career serving the people in this community — first from behind the chair at the hair and nail salon I owned for 32 years, and now as your insurance broker. Either way, the work has been the same: sit down with someone, listen, and earn their trust.

About nine years ago I became an independent insurance broker, and I found something I didn't expect: a real passion for helping people walk into Medicare with confidence instead of dread. Eight years ago I joined the Medicare Misty team, and in June 2026 I proudly opened our East Ridge office so I could keep serving Chattanooga and the surrounding communities.

When you call, you'll speak directly with me — not an 800 number.

I believe in building lasting relationships and treating every client like family. My goal isn't just to help you enroll in a plan; it's to be your trusted resource before your enrollment, during it, and long after it's done. Medicare can be overwhelming, but I make it simple. I take the time to explain your options in plain English, answer every question, and help you choose the plan that's the best fit for your life.

Outside the office you'll find me traveling, hiking, chasing waterfalls, boating, skiing, and generally staying outdoors as much as Tennessee weather allows. I'm known for a bubbly personality, a quick wit, and the fact that I've never met a stranger.

If you're looking for a local Medicare broker who genuinely cares, I'd be honored to help. There's never any cost or obligation — just honest guidance, personalized solutions, and support you can count on.

Local. Trusted. Here for You.

No pressure, no cost, no obligation

Three conversations, and you're covered.

We talk

Call, or stop by the East Ridge office. Bring your questions and your list of doctors and prescriptions. I'll listen first and explain how Medicare actually works — no jargon, no sales pitch.

We compare

I represent multiple carriers, so we look at your real options side by side: what each plan costs, whether your doctors are in network, and how your prescriptions are covered.

We enroll — and I stay

I handle the paperwork with you, then I'm your point of contact for good. Claim question in March? Doctor drops a network in July? You call me, not a call center.

Medicare Misty Partners

A local office, backed by a team you already know.

I'm not doing this alone. For eight years I've been part of Medicare Misty Partners — a group of licensed agents serving Chattanooga, East Ridge, Hixson, Cleveland and the surrounding communities. That means you get the attention of a neighborhood broker with the resources of an experienced team behind her: more carriers, more eyes on your plan, and someone always available if I'm with another client.

Straight answers

Questions I get every week.

What does it cost to work with you?

Nothing. My services are free to you. I'm compensated by the insurance carriers, and your premium is the same whether you enroll through me or on your own — except this way you have someone local to call afterward.

When should I call if I'm turning 65?

About three to four months before your 65th birthday. Your Initial Enrollment Period opens three months before your birthday month and closes three months after. Calling early means we're never rushing a decision or paying a late penalty we could have avoided.

I'm still working past 65. Do I need Medicare?

Sometimes yes, sometimes no — it depends on your employer's plan and how many employees they have. Bring me your benefits summary and we'll work out whether staying on group coverage or moving to Medicare leaves you better off.

What's the difference between a Supplement and an Advantage plan?

Broadly: a Medicare Supplement pairs with Original Medicare and covers much of what Medicare leaves behind, usually with a higher monthly premium and wide doctor access. A Medicare Advantage plan replaces how you receive your benefits, often with a lower premium, a provider network, and extras like dental or vision. Neither one is better — the right answer depends on your doctors, your prescriptions, and your travel.

I already have a plan. Is it worth a second look?

Yes, once a year. Plans change their costs, networks and drug formularies every January. An annual review takes about twenty minutes and it's free, whether or not you originally enrolled with me.

Do you only handle Medicare?

No. I also help with under-65 individual and family health coverage, life insurance, and ancillary policies like critical illness, hospital indemnity, dental/vision/hearing, and home health care.

Let's take Medicare off your worry list.

Call the East Ridge office, or send a note and I'll get back to you personally — usually the same day. No cost, no obligation, and no pressure to switch anything.
